Seventh Wonderland debuts at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week

Sydney label, Seventh Wonderland debuted at the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week with their Spring Summer 2010-2011 collection “La clef au monde secret”.

Two deco ice sculptures, framed the series of 1950’s inspired bathers and gorgeous prints, hand created by designer Bonnie Coumbe.

And now for the fine print– the details to help you win & official jargon– because we have to:

1. Contest period is from April 29, 2010 (10 a.m.) to May. 3, 2010 (12 p.m.).
2. Employees of V Australia; Virgin Blue; Pacific Blue; their contractors and business partners; as well as immediate family members are not allowed to participate.
3. All entries must be submitted through Twitter (@VAustralia) or Facebook (http://facebook.com/vaustralia) to V Australia.
4. The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entertained.
5. Each entrant is eligible to win only once during the contest.
6. The prizes are not exchangeable for cash.
7. V Australia reserves the right to change the prize or contest mechanics without prior notice.
8. The winner will be notified via Twitter @Reply or Facebook message, respectively according to the method of entry.
9. V Australia will coordinate prize pick-up with each contestant directly. However, V Australia will not be liable for any loss or damages with regards to the delivery or the usage of the prize.
10. All submissions become property of V Australia.
11. Winners must be over the age of 18 years of age
12. Those lucky enough to join us will be contacted by the V Australia team – tickets are to be collected by at the Rosemount Australia Fashion Week Registration desk one hour prior to the show on the day of the show desk prior to the show on the day.

The Chevelles were born. 20 years later The Chevelles have played over 1000 live shows, released over 20 recordings and extensively toured Australia and the US, Brazil and Europe over a dozen times in their career….playing in small sweaty rooms, massive outdoor stadium concerts and wild beach festivals . Brisbane’s Grand Atlantic Comes to Play!

Grand Atlantic are an alternative rock band from Brisbane, Australia. They blast out melodic, hard-hitting songs, often compared to Oasis and Jet but recalling the powerpop sensibilities of Redd Kross or Teenage Fanclub. This band is all about immediate hooks, visceral guitar riffs and a swaggering rhythm section. Their new album, titled ‘How We Survive’ was released in July 2009 by Laughing Outlaw Records in Australia. Drunken Beach Blanket Zombie Party Indie Rock with Goons of Doom

The Goons of Doom are throwing a party and want everyone to come topless. The five childhood friends started the band five years ago with instruments bought from a pawn shop and with rudimentary skills wrote simple songs that were startling, honest, ridiculous and instantly catchy. Two albums later, their sound has been honed into an ecstatic mix of shanty sing-a-long surf mixed with deadbeat rock and roll gak.

Blissfully unpretentious and lacking any real form of ambition, the Goons deliver a unique live musical experience, in that they genuinely want to share their energetic life’s stories while simultaneously dismantling crossed arms, disarming judgmental stares and tearing down every last guarded ego in the room. Andy Clockwise moved from Sydney Australia to Los Angeles in late 2007, and in the short period of 2 year has already sold out major venues across the city. His stage performance and live shows have become “Legendary” on the LA music scene landing Andy the much coveted Monday Night Spaceland Residency as well as sell shows at the Hotel Café and Troubadour.

Q: What won’t you travel to/from Australia without?
A: My acoustic guitar

Q: What song would you dedicate to V Australia & why?
A: Anything by Leonard Cohen, I always listen to him when flying, he helps me fall asleep. Not because he’s boring, because it’s comforting and smooth.

Q: Is there anything you’d like to pass on to Sir Richard Branson?
A: Richard seems to be a patron of the arts, and the arts could do with more people like him. Millionaires.

Q: What are you most looking forward to at the festival?
A: At SXSW, I’m most looking forward to meeting our agents from the UK & US and sharing a beer with my compatriots at the Aussie BBQ.

A: ‘Like a virgin’ by Madonna. I could dedicate a City Riots track but since the majority of them are about lost love, It may give Richard Branson the wrong idea.

A: Could we set up a rehearsal space on your private island? At least the neighbours won’t be kept awake.

Q: What are you most looking forward to at the festival?
A: Finding out how we will manage to play set up and play two shows on opposite ends of the city with only 20 mins in between each show on the Saturday of SXSW.
